Challenge

Within weeks of accepting my position at Masonite, I was charged with managing this high-visibility initiative to remediate compliance concerns that surfaced from the threat of lawsuits from multiple regions around the globe.

Goal

Demonstrate intent with immediate remediation 50% compliance. “Long-term” goal of over 90% compliant content.

Approach

Drive discussions with Legal and Security Operations to define and solidify clear WCAG standards. Single-handedly perform and document audits of 1000+ pages worldwide. Outline project plan. Manage tasks across agency partners. User stories for internal development. Develop and manage communications with Legal and C-level teams. Repeat and manage cycles of audit > remediate > scan.

Outcome

In less than 3 months, 99% of all on-platform Masonite web content was in compliance with rigorous compliance standards.
